CMDCM Leon N. A. Sealey


Master Chief Sealey is a native of Coventry City, England, Master Chief Sealey moved to Brooklyn, NY in August 1992, joining the Navy out of Staten Island, NY in July 1997. He completed Basic Training in Great Lakes, IL in September, 1997, and graduated from AM “A” School, Pensacola, FL in November 1997. 

Master Chief Sealey reported in March, 1998 to Strike Fighter Squadron EIGHT THREE, where he completed two deployments to the Mediterranean Sea and Persian Gulf onboard USS DWIGHT D EISENHOWER (CVN-69) and USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN-73). From the Rampagers he reported to AIMD NAS Oceana in July 2001. In August 2004 he reported to Strike Fighter Squadron ONE ZERO FIVE, where he served as the Airframes Leading Petty Officer and a Quality Assurance Representative. While at the Gunslingers he completed two deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom onboard USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75). His second shore tour began in October 2008 at NATTC Pensacola for instructor duty at the AM “A” school. While there he was advanced to Chief Petty Officer, Qualified Master Training Specialist, and was selected as the 2010 Senior Instructor of the Year. In October 2011 he began his third sea tour serving as the Flight Deck Coordinator, Quality Assurance Supervisor, and Maintenance Desk Senior Chief in Strike Fighter Squadron EIGHT ONE. As a Sunliner he deployed on a WESTPAC to the Persian Gulf onboard USS CARL VINSON (CVN-70).  

In 2014, Master Chief Sealey was selected for the Command Senior Chief program, and subsequently graduated from the Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 181, and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course, Class 130, and reported to Naval Support Activity Annapolis as the first assigned Command Senior Chief in July, 2014. Master Chief Sealey’s was next assigned to the “Black Eagles” of VAW-113, who earned the 2017 CVW-2 Senior Enlisted Leadership Mess, CNAP 2017 Battle “E” and CNAF 2017 RADM Frank Akers Awards for AEW Excellence for their outstanding achievements during back-to-back 2017 and 2018 WESTPAC deployments aboard the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70).

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 wards) and various service and campaign awards. He is also entitled to wear the Enlisted Aviation Warfare and Enlisted Surface Warfare insignia. Command Master Chief Sealey earned his AA in Liberal Arts from St. Leo University in 2003 and a BS in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2011.
