Commander Stephen Lamoure, USN
Commander Stephen Lamoure, native of Grand
Junction, Colorado and raised in Modesto, California, graduated from California
State University, Northridge in September of 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in
Communication Studies. He received his
commission through Officer Candidate School at NAS Pensacola in December, 2002.
After flight training at NAS Corpus Christi, TX
and NAS Kingsville, TX, Commander Lamoure was designated as a Naval Aviator in
April, 2004 and then reported to Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron ONE
TWO ZERO in Norfolk, VA, for Fleet Replacement Pilot training.
In March 2006, Commander Lamoure joined the
LIBERTY BELLS of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron ONE ONE FIVE, based at
NAF Atsugi, Japan as part of the Forward Deployed Naval Forces for his first
Fleet assignment. During his tour with VAW-115, Commander Lamoure
deployed aboard both the USS KITTY HAWK (CV 63) and USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN
73) in support of numerous international exercises throughout the Western
Pacific and Eastern Indian oceans.
In March 2009, Commander Lamoure was selected to
join the coveted Carrier Airborne Early Warning Weapons School (CAEWWS) nested
under the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC) as a Hawkeye
Weapons and Tactics Instructor (HEWTI) based in NAS Fallon, Nevada. His
instructor tour at CAEWWS was following by a Training Officer tour with the
BLACK EAGLES of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron ONE ONE THREE beginning
in March 2012.
In October 2013, Commander Lamoure was selected
return back to VAW-115 as a Squadron Department Head. Short after his arrival, the LIBERTY BELLS
supported Operation DAMAYAN, the Humanitarian Assistance operation to the
Philippines following Super Typhoon Haiyan.
Commander Lamoure continued to conduct various international exercises
while deployed to the Western Pacific aboard both the USS GEORGE WASHINGTON
(CVN 73) and USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76)
In February 2016, Commander Lamoure attended the
U.S. Navy War College in Newport, Rhode Island, where he graduated earning a
Masters of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies. Following the
Naval War College, in March 2017, Commander Lamoure reported to the US European
Command’s Headquarters located in Stuttgart, Germany as the Security
Cooperation & Partnering (SCP) Military to Military (Mil-to-Mil) Program
awards include three Navy Commendation Medals, three Naval Achievement Medals,
the Humanitarian Service Medal, and various campaign and unit awards.
