Commander Leigh Shannon
  Executive Officer, Navy Air Logistics Office



 
 
 
CDR Leigh Shannon grew up in New Hampshire and attended the United States Naval Academy. She played on the USNA lacrosse team and graduated in 2002.
Winged in 2004, CDR Shannon has deployed/detached to every Geographic Combatant Commands’ AOR and operated out of over 50 countries.
As a VP-4 Skinny Dragon, she deployed flying combat missions in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and counter drug operations in South and Central America. She also flew several Search and Rescue missions around the globe.
During her FRS instructor pilot tour at VP-30, she had the opportunity to study at NSAWC and became a Weapons Tactics Instructor in 2011.   
Transitioning to the C-40, she flew with the Globemasters from 2012-2017 completing 17 detachments. Best gig ever.
She also had the opportunity to study at the Army Command and General Staff College where she earned her Master’s Degree.
Currently in New Orleans and still flying the C-40, Leigh considers her three children to be her crowning achievement and greatest adventure.
