Captain Ryan T. Keys
Captain Ryan Keys is a
native of Fremont, California. He
graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1995, where he received a
Bachelor of Science Degree in English.
He earned his Naval Aviator wings at Naval Air Station Whiting Field,
Milton, Florida in October 1997, and completed initial training as an H-60F/H
pilot at Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron TEN (HS-10) in 1998.
Captain Keys’ sea duty assignments include
the “Tridents” of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron THREE (HS-3), the Staff of
Commander, Strike Force Training Atlantic, the “Nightdippers” of Helicopter
Anti-Submarine Squadron FIVE (HS-5). and commanded the “Dragonslayers” of
Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron ELEVEN (HS-11). He deployed in support of Operation Noble
Anvil (Kosovo 1999), Operation SOUTHERN WATCH, Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, and
Captain Keys’ shore duty assignments include
the “Warhawks” of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron TEN (HS-10) as a Fleet
Replacement Squadron Instructor Pilot, United States Air Force War College,
United States Strategic Command Center for Combating Weapons of Mass
Destruction, commanded Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron TWO (HSC-2), the east
coast MH-60S Fleet Replacement Squadron, and the Staff of Commander, Navy
Captain Keys has accumulated over 3,600
flight hours in the H-60F/H/S and qualified as a Seahawk Weapons and Tactics
Instructor. He received The Navy &
Marine Association 2008 Leadership Award for Commander, Helicopter Sea Combat
Wing Atlantic Detachment Jacksonville.
He attained the Joint Qualified Officer designation and Space
Acquisition Additional Qualification Designator.
