MASTER CHIEF LLOYD STANFORD

Master Chief Stanford is a native of Raleigh, NC. He joined the Navy directly after graduating high school and reported to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, IL, in September 1990.
Master Chief Stanford’s initial sea tour was in USNS MISSISSINEWA (TAO-144), where he was assigned as Signalman of the Watch. Upon completion of his tour, Master Chief Stanford reported to USS ANZIO (CG-68) in 1992 and is designated as a Plank Owner. He then reported to USS ARCTIC (AOE-8) in 1995 as a Plank Owner and Signalman Watch Supervisor. His next tour of duty was at Port Operations, Norfolk, VA, serving as a dispatcher. His next tour of duty was onboard the USS WINSTON S. CHURCHILL (DDG-81) from 2000 to 2004 as Leading Petty Officer and again, a Plank Owner. He then converted to Navy Career Counselor upon the disestablishment of the Signalman Rating in 2004. His first Career Counselor tour was at Navy Telecommunications Station Far East, Yokosuka, Japan. Upon completion, he served in Carrier Air Wing FIVE, Atsugi, Japan in 2008. He then reported to Commander Patrol and Reconnaissance Group located in Norfolk, VA. While serving as Group ISIC, he volunteered for an Individual Augmentation billet in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, for nine months leading the charge as the Battalion Career Counselor in 2012. He then returned from a safely executed IA and transferred to USS NIMITZ (CVN-68) in 2013 as the Administration Department LCPO. His next tour as CMDCM was with Coastal Riverine Squadron THREE from 2015 to 2018. He is currently the Command Master Chief of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron FOUR ONE.
Master Chief Stanford is a graduate of the U. S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 136, Gray) and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course (Class 150) in Newport, RI.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4), Good Conduct Medal (7), and numerous campaign and unit awards. He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from University of Management and Technology.
