MICHELLE-ANN C. HASTINGS

Command Master Chief Hastings, a native of Athol, Idaho, enlisted in January of 1997. She completed Recruit Training, Advanced Electronics Technical Core, and Electronics Technician “A” School in Great Lakes, Illinois.
Her first Duty Station was USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD 6) stationed out of San Diego, California. Her duties included maintenance and repair of the ship’s air traffic control radars for Combat Electronics Division. While onboard, she was command Advanced to Second Class Petty Officer and received her Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare qualifications. In July 2000, she transferred to PCU IWO JIMA (LHD 7) in Norfolk, Virginia where she served as the ship’s Tactical Air Navigation systems technician. In February 2003, she reported to Fleet Training Center Norfolk where she was assigned as a Tactical Air Navigation instructor. Her success during this tour earned her selection as the Junior Sailor of the Year for Center for Surface Combat Systems Detachment Norfolk in 2004. In January 2006, she reported to USS THEORDORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71) and was assigned as work center supervisor in Combat Radar Division. In September 2007, she was selected to Chief Petty Officer. In January of 2009, she reported to Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii where she was assigned as Ship’s Superintendent for USS RUSSELL (DDG 58) and USS OKANE (DDG 77). In January of 2012 she reported aboard USS OKANE (DDG 77) home ported in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii where she was assigned as Combat Systems Leading Chief Petty Officer. She was selected for the Command Senior Chief program in February 2014, completed Command Leadership School and was assigned to Littoral Combat Ship Crew 208 in January 2015. Later in April 2016, she selected as Command Master Chief and reported to LCS Crew 208.
CMDCM (SW/AW) Hastings has completed numerous deployments to Fifth and Seventh Fleets. In December of 2014 she graduated from the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 184). Her personal awards include the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various unit and campaign award
