Executive Officer



CDR Brown hails from Ledgewood, NJ and graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 2002, earning a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering Systems.  CDR Brown reported to NAS Pensacola, FL for flight training in August 2002 earning his Naval Aviator Wings in January 2004.  CDR Brown reported to the “Ironman” of VQ-3 in August 2004 for his initial fleet tour flying the E-6B Mercury. 
Following this tour, CDR Brown reported to the VQ-7 Roughnecks as an FRS instructor where he taught future fleet aviators in a Boeing 737 and the E-6B.  For his second sea tour, CDR Brown was the Assistant Navigator on the USS John C. Stennis from November 2009 until May 2012.  While attached to JCS, CDR Brown was selected as the 2012 Naval Air Forces Pacific Fleet Junior Ship Handler of the Year after returning from their successful seven-month deployment to the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operation.
After completion of his second sea tour, CDR Brown reported to the Air Force Institute of Technology in August 2012.  In March 2014 he earned a Master of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering and completed the first phase of his Joint Professional Military Education.  CDR Brown again reported to the “Ironmen” of VQ-3 for his Department Head (DH) Tour.  From September 2014 through May 2016 he served as Training/NATOPS Department Head and the Operations Officer successfully completing multiple U.S. Strategic Command Global Exercises.
Following his DH tour, CDR Brown reported to Naval Personnel Command in June 2016 as the Fleet Air Reconnaissance Detailer and Placement Officer.  In February 2017 CDR Brown was selected as the Assistant Captain Detailer and served in the capacity until departing in June 2018.
CDR Brown has accumulated over 2,600 flight hours in multiple aircraft.  His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Strike/Flight Air Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards), and various service awards and ribbons.
He is married to the former Katye Wilmington of Crestwood, IL and has four wonderful children: Brady (11), Ciara (9), Patrick (6), and Jacob (3).
