Master Chief Feroni is a native of Bloomington, MN. He enlisted in the Navy, October 1993 under the delayed entry program and completed Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL followed by Operations Specialist “A” School in Dam Neck, VA.
His first tour was aboard USS SHASTA (AE 33) home ported in Concord, CA, where he deployed to the Western Pacific. After decommissioning SHASTA, he transferred to USNS KISKA (T-AE 35) where he subsequently was advanced to Second Class Petty Officer. Upon completion of his tour he transferred to Navy Recruiting District (NRD) Minneapolis for recruiting duty in 1998.
In June 2002, he headed to PCU PREBLE (DDG 88) in Pascagoula, MS and was commissioned in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed one Western Pacific deployment in support of Global War on Terrorism and promoted to First Class Petty Officer. Master Chief then reported to NRD San Diego for recruiting duty in January 2006, where he was assigned as the Recruiter-in-Charge of NRS Escondido and as the Navy Special Warfare Coordinator. During his tour at NRD San Diego, he was selected to Chief Petty Officer.
In December of 2008, he transferred to SEAL Team SEVEN as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for Combat Support personnel. During his tour, he completed two combat tours to Iraq and one to the Middle East region and was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer.
In April 2014, he reported to Joint Functional Component Command - Space, Missile Warning Center, Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station, Colorado Springs, CO where he was assigned as the Navy element Senior Enlisted Leader. In 2016, he was selected to the Command Senior Enlisted Leader program and recently served as Command Master Chief onboard USS OSCAR AUSTIN (DDG 79). In May 2019, he began his current assignment as Command Master Chief of Coastal Riverine Group Two.
He attended the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 185/Gray Group) in January 2015 and completed the CMC/COB Course in September 2016.
Master Chief Feroni is a recipient of various personal and campaign awards including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (2 awards), Army Commendation Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards). He is qualified to wear the Expeditionary Warfare Specialist (EXW), Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS), and Navy Parachutist (PJ) breast insignia.
