CMDCM(SW) Jason L. Brown
Command Master Chief Jason L. Brown reported to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois in September 1994. He became a Damage Controlman in 1995 following A School at Fleet Training Center, Treasure Island, CA. He was selected for the Command Master Chief Program in 2018.
He has served in a variety of sea duty assignments, including USS Nicholson (DD 982), USS Nicholas (FFG 47), USS George Washington (CVN 73), USS Enterprise (CVN 65), USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), USS Essex (LHD 2), and USS Fort McHenry (LSD 43).
His previous shore tours include fire-fighting instructor at Fleet Training Center’s Farrier Fire Fighting School, Norfolk, VA. He served as 21st Company’s Senior Enlisted Leader at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Additionally, he served as Training Liaison Officer to USS Iwo Jima (LHD 5) and USS Hue City (CG 66) at Afloat Training Group Mayport, FL.
He has deployed six times to the Pacific, Atlantic, and Middle Eastern theatres. Specifically, during Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, he deployed and surged in just two short years to support combat operations. He successfully completed a Hull Swap with USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) and USS Essex (LHD 2) ensuring Forward Deployed Naval Forces (FDNF) Japan were ready to answer the nation’s call.
Master Chief Jason L. Brown is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 135/Grey) and has been awarded the Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), and variousother personal and unit awards. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Business specializing in Leadership and Management from Florida State College of Jacksonville.
