Woodwind Quintet
The U.S. Fleet Forces Band's Woodwind Quintet, led by Musician Second Class David Purrington, combines the unique sounds of flute, clarinet, French horn, and bassoon to create a group that is well-suited for a variety of occasions.
The ensemble's extensive repertiore enables them to perform for anything from a dinner or reception to public concerts. The U.S. Fleet Forces Band's Woodwind Quintet also performs for elementary school educational concerts, master classes and clinics for high school and college students, and public concerts for the Hampton Roads community. The quintet's repertiore ranges from Mozart, Rossini, and Joplin to modern works by a variety of American composers.
