The tragic events at the Washington Navy Yard yesterday, September 16, 2013, and the loss of many faithful and dedicated members of our Navy community, have affected us all. We stand with the family members, friends and colleagues who are saddened and grieving.
We also recognize that among many of the deceased were shipmates that we have worked with as part of our team delivering Readiness to the Fleet.
The following is offered in the way of support for those who would like to honor the lives of the victims or seek someone to talk with privately. - Our Fleet Forces chaplains have offered to see anyone who desires to talk about these losses. You don't need to be religious to speak to them and they will be glad to offer you confidential support while respecting your personal views. Their phone number is 836-5504 and they are located in NH2S, room 148.
- The Hampton Roads Duty Chaplain is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Duty chaplain can be reached at (757) 438-3822.
The USFF staff is encouraged to seek out these opportunities for care and to honor our fellow Navy staff members.
