Camaraderie and CompetitionNORFOLK, Va. (NNS) - Sailors, Marines, and civilians from Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic and 23 of its subordinate commands came together for the Surface Line Week 2014 closing ceremonies and awards presentation, following a four-year hiatus. Leadership Road to Success The purpose of the event was to update SURFLANT tenet commanders, COs , and CMCs on fleet-wide initiatives, and provide a venue where the group could share ideas and provide candid feedback to the type commander. Ship LifeSAN DIEGO – A group of Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) midshipmen from colleges across the country experienced the taste of saltwater and life and sea for a day aboard the guided missile destroyer USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53).
