Command Master Chief
Command Master Chief Bellamy is a native of Wilson, NC. He entered the Navy in March 1988, he attended boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, FL and attended Interior Communications “A” school in San Diego, CA.
Bellamy's first assignment was with USS NASSAU (LHA 4), home ported in Norfolk, VA, from October 1988 to June 1992.
His next assignment was aboard USS SYLVANIA (AFS 2), also in Norfolk, from April 1992 to June 1994 where he earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Air Warfare Specialists designations.
In June 1994, Bellamy transferred to the Navy Recruiting District San Antonio, TX. During that tour, Bellamy was meritoriously advanced to First Class Petty Officer and subsequently designated Recruiter In Charge of a seven-person recruiting station.
Bellamy was assigned to USS ANZIO (CG 68) in June 1997 and served there until October 2001 when he transferred to WSN-5 instructor duty at Dam Neck, VA, and was advanced to Chief Petty Officer, earned the Master Training Specialist qualification and filled a Division Officer position for 18 months.
Aboard the Navy's oldest and only FDNF aircraft carrier, USS KITTY HAWK (CV 63), Bellamy was assigned as the LCPO of Air Department’s V-2 Division and was advanced to ICCS. He served aboard from January 2005 until he transferred in October 2008 to complete training and a year-long detainee ops IA at Camp Bucca, Iraq.
In March 2010, Bellamy reported to the Defense Media Activity, formerly Naval Media Center, Anacostia Annex, Washington, DC as the Senior Enlisted Advisor. Under BRAC, DMA was subsequently moved to Fort Meade, MD.
Bellamy's awards include the Bronze Star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards); Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals (four awards); various other personal and unit awards. He is also a 2007 graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy.
