The Integrated Air and Missile Defense Warfare Tactics Instructor (IAMD WTI) Program at the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center Detachment Dahlgren (SMWDC DD) is now well into the sixth convening of their 19-week WTI course of instruction. The twelve WTI candidates of Class 15030 recently hosted air and missile defense experts from the Army, Air Force, Marines and STRATCOM in their self-contained trailer classroom behind Building 1700 for a week of operator-to-operator lectures and tabletop exercises on Joint Theater Air and Missile Defense (JTAMD) in the 5th Fleet, 6th Fleet and 7th Fleet Areas of Responsibility. WTIs provide the Fleet with the technical and tactical expertise needed to fight and win. In partnership with the Navy’s fellow Services, Warfare Tactics Instructors are warriors, thinkers and teachers who pursue “tactical excellence by design.”
