Lieutenant Commander Morgan Roberts graduated in 2000 from The Citadel (The Military College of South Carolina) with a B.A. in History.

At sea, Lieutenant Commander Roberts served as Chief Engineer in USS COLE (DDG 67), Navigator and Assistant Operations Officer in USS SPRUANCE (DD 963) and as Auxiliaries and Electrical Officer in USS John S McCain (DDG 56). Ashore, he was assigned as flag aide to RDML Gerald Beaman, NAVAL NETWORK and SPACE OPERATIONS COMMAND (NNSOC).

Lieutenant Commander Roberts’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards).
