A native of LaPlace, Louisiana, LCDR Constance Denmond enlisted in the Navy in September 1990 as an Interior Communication Electrician and was selected for the Enlisted Commissioning Program in 1998. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Science from the University of North Florida in December 2000. After completing Surface Warfare Division Officer School, LCDR Denmond reported to USS O’BANNON (DD-987) where she served as Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer and Auxiliary Officer. During her tour, she completed two Counter-Drug Operations. In August 2003, LCDR Denmond reported aboard USS HALYBURTON (FFG-40) and served as Navigator.
Ashore, LCDR Denmond reported to Naval Personnel Command Officer Distribution (PERS-41) in January 2005 where she served as a Junior Officer Detailer. In June 2006, she reported to the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA and earned a Masters in Business Administration (Defense focused Financial Management) and completed Joint Professional Military Education (JPME I) in December 2007.
Upon completion of Department Head School, LCDR Denmond reported to USS PORTER (DDG-78) in October 2008 where she served as Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer. While serving on PORTER, she completed a Joint Warrior Exercise and Counter-Piracy/Horn of Africa deployment.
LCDR Denmond reported to MCM Crew Fearless as XO in March 2011 as a part of the Early Command Selection Process.
Her personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (two awards) and Navy Achievement Medal (four awards).
