Senior Enlisted Advisor (June 2011 - June 2012)
Senior Chief Dew hails from Detroit, Michigan. A 1986 graduate of Northern Senior High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy and entered into active duty service on August 11, 1986. After completing Recruit Training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he received orders to USS Cape Cod (AD 43) in San Diego, CA. While assigned, he achieved the rank of Petty Officer Third Class.
In 1990 he reported to Pre-commissioning Unit USS Rushmore (LSD 47), San Diego, CA, there he achieved the rank of 2nd Class Petty Officer. In 1993 his next assignment took him to Navy Recruiting District Chicago, IL. During this tour he was Recruiter of the Year and was advanced to First Class Petty Officer.
In 1996 he reported to Pre-commissioning Unit USS Ross (DDG 71), Norfolk, VA where he was leading Petty Officer for Deck Department. Reporting to Service School Command, Great Lakes, IL in 1999 as an Instructor for Seamanship Training Division, he was Sailor of the Year for Service Schools Command, Great Lakes and was promoted to Chief Petty Officer.
In 2002, he reported to Pre-commissioning Unit USS Pinckney (DDG 91), where he was assigned as Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. While there, he was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer and was awarded the Senior Enlisted Leadership Award, Commander U.S. Naval Surface Forces, Pacific.
In 2006 he reported to Naval Medical Center San Diego as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Mental Health Directorate. In 2009 he was selected for the Command Senior Chief Program. In November 2009 he reported to USS Jarrett (FFG 33), San Diego, CA as the Command Senior Chief. In June 2011 he reported to MCM Crew Fearless as the Command Senior Chief. He is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy class 145 purple and CMC/COB Capstone Course class 67. Senior Chief Dew has been awarded five Navy Commendation Medals, six Navy Achievement Medals and numerous other distinguished service and campaign medals and ribbons. Additionally he is a qualified Master Training Specialist and Instructor.
