LT Paul Sablan Duenas
LT Paul Sablan Duenas, a native of Guam, received his commission from the United States Naval Academy in 2003, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science.
His division officer tours were as Communications Officer in USS MASON (DDG 87) and Fire Control Officer in USS RAMAGE (DDG 61). Additionally, he served an as individual augmentee to Joint Counter-Radio-Controlled IED Electronic Warfare Composite Squadron One in Baghdad, Iraq, where he was assigned as an Electronic Warfare Officer to the U.S. Army's 440th Signal Battalion, 86th Signal Battalion, and the Multi-National Corps-Iraq Coalition Military Assistance Training Team. After completing Department Head School in Newport, RI, he reported aboard USS O’KANE (DDG 77) as the Engineer Officer.
Ashore, LT Duenas served as a Company Officer at the U.S. Naval Academy. He completed graduate studies at University of Maryland, receiving a Master of Professional Studies in Leadership Education and Development, and the Naval War College through the Fleet Seminar Program, earning a Master of Arts Degree in National Security and Strategic studies.
LT Duenas’ awards include the Bronze Star, the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), the Army Commendation Award, and the Navy Achievement Award (three awards) among other unit service and campaign awards.
