|LCDR Micah Sybor
Lieutenant Commander Micah Sybor, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, was commissioned after graduating from the United States Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 2002.
After attending Surface Warfare Officer’s School in Newport, RI, he reported to USS STOUT (DDG 55), where he served as Strike Division Officer and Auxiliaries Division Officer. During his tour, USS STOUT deployed to 6th Fleet AOR as part of Standing NATO Forces Atlantic. He fleeted up to be the Navigator in USS STOUT and completed a 5th Fleet AOR deployment in DDG CREW SIERRA completing the Atlantic Sea Swap deployment. DDG CREW SIERRA deployed in USS GONZALEZ (DDG 66), conducting anti-pirate operations off the Horn of Africa and operations in Combined Task Forces 151, 152 and 58. CREW SIERRA returned from deployment and assumed ownership of USS LABOON (DDG 58). He served as Chief Engineer in USS MILIUS, completing a 5th Fleet independent Ballistic Missile Defense deployment and operations in support of CTF Iraqi Maritime. Upon completion of deployment MILIUS completed a Selected Restricted Availability and INSURV.
He was selected for early command and reported to MCM Crew BULWARK as the Executive Officer in April of 2012, completing the four ship heavy lift in support of the MCM surge deployment and International MCM Exercise 2012. He was transferred to MCM Crew FEARLESS in November of 2012.
LCDR Sybor’s shore assignment was as a student at the Naval Post Graduate School where completed Joint Professional Military Education Phase 1 and earned a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
LCDR Sybor’s personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal and various campaign and unit awards.
