LCDR Micah D. Murphy 
Commanding Officer (March 2012 - March 2013)

Lieutenant Commander Micah D. Murphy hails from Wheaton, IL and is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Finance and Business Economics. He earned his Master’s in Business Administration from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management (Northwestern University) in 2007.

At sea, Lieutenant Commander Murphy's Division Officer assignments included San Diego-based USS KINKAID (DD 965), USS FLETCHER (DD 992) and USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD 6) as First Lieutenant, Communications Officer, Electronics Material Officer and Fire Control Officer. He then served as the Operations Officer aboard USS MOMSEN (DDG 92) in Everett, WA and Executive Officer of rotational crew MCM Crew EXULTANT embarked in USS DEXTROUS (MCM 13), USS WARRIOR (MCM 10) and USS CHIEF (MCM 14).

Lieutenant Commander Murphy's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various unit and service ribbons.
