Command Master Chief (April 2015 - May 2017)
Master Chief Petty Officer Embree hails from Eugene, Oregon. A 1994
graduate of Willamette High School, he entering the Navy in July 1994 and
attended Basic Training at Recruit Training Command, Naval Training Center,
Great Lakes, Illinois followed by Seaman Apprentice School. In June of 1997
he attended Intelligence Specialist "A" School at Dam Neck, Virginia.
Master Chief Embree's sea tours include the USS PUGET SOUND (AD-38),
homeported in Norfolk, Virginia, where he served in Deck department as a
boat and crane operator; USS BRISCOE (DD-977), homeported in Norfolk,
Virginia, where he served in Deck department leading seaman; USS KITTY HAWK
(CV-63), homeported in Yokosuka, Japan, where he served in the Carrier
Intelligence Center as Strike night watch supervisor and JSIPS-N watch
supervisor; and USS ANTIETAM (CG-54), homeported in San Diego, California,
where he served in operations department as the Ship’s Intelligence Officer
and OT division Leading Chief Petty Officer. In 2008, he volunteered for an
Individual Augmentee assignment onboard the USS OAK HILL (LSD-51), where he
served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the ScanEagle UAS detachment.
While on IA assignment he was selected for advancement to Chief Petty
Officer. In April of 2015, he reported to his current assignment as a
member of MCM Crew DOMINANT, embarked onboard USS CHAMPION (MCM-4), San
Diego, California as the Command Master Chief.
Ashore, he served at the Commander United States Navy Central Command /
Commander United States Forces 5th Fleet, Manama, Bahrain, where he served
as the Fleet Imagery and Targeting shop Leading Petty Officer; United States
Defense Attaché Office, United States Embassy Berlin, Germany, where he
served as the administrative assistant and VIP visit coordinator. In 2010,
Master Chief Embree returned to the staff of Commander United States Navy
Central Command / Commander United States Forces 5th Fleet, Manama, Bahrain,
where he served as the deputy Senior Enlisted Leader and Leading Chief Petty
Officer for the imagery, indications & warning, human intelligence, and
intelligence Surveillance and reconnaissance divisions. January of 2012, he
reported to the Naval Special Warfare Mission Support Center in San Diego,
California where he served as the command Senior Enlisted Advisor.
Master Chief Embree’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious
Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Joint
Services Achievement Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement
Medal (5 awards), Navy Good Conduct (6 awards), as well as numerous campaign
and unit awards.
In October of 2010, he graduated from the United States Coast Guard Chief
Petty Officer Academy (class 172) and is an honorary Coast Guard Chief Petty
Officer. He is also a graduate of the United States Navy’s Senior Enlisted
Academy (class 180, May 2014) and the CMC/COB Course (March 2015).
