Command Senior Chief
Senior Chief Sean Brown is a native of Victoria, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree (Health Care Administration) in 2009 and is currently working on a Masters of Business Administration.
Senior Chief Brown enlisted in the Navy on 22 July 1992; attending Basic Training, Storekeeper A School and Basic Enlisted Submarine School before reporting to the USS Cavalla (SSN 684) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii where he attained the rank of SK3. He then attended Hospital Corpsman A school and upon graduation was assigned to Fleet Surgical Team Three, USS Peleliu (LHA 5) and advanced to HM2. HMCS Brown attended Surface Force Independent Duty Corpsman C School, meritoriously promoted to HM1, and subsequently reported to USS Juneau (LPD 10) homeported in Sasebo, Japan. After his first successful IDC tour he reported to 2D Marine Division at Camp Lejeune where he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer and served with 2D Combat Engineer Battalion, 2D Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion as well as deploying to Ramadi, Iraq from February to October 2006 with 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His single shore assignment was an instructor and Medical Department LCPO tour at the Naval School for Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida where he attained the rank of Senior Chief. He then transferred to the USS BATAAN (LHD 5) homeported in Norfolk, Virginia and served at the Medical Department LCPO. HMCS Brown was selected for the Command Senior Chief program and spent one year on Individual Augmentee orders assigned to MCM CREW OLYMPIAN embarked in USS CHIEF and USS DEXTROUS.
HMCS Brown is a graduate of Navy Dive School (NEC 5345), Field Medical Service School (NEC 8404), Journeyman Instructor Course (NEC 9502) and the Army Airborne Course at Fort Benning, Georgia. He is a Master Training Specialist and graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 153) as well as the CMC/COB Course.
Senior Chief Brown’s personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy Achievement Medal (3 awards), Combat Action Ribbon, Army Combat Medical Badge and various campaign and unit awards.
