LCDR T. Peter Abbott
Commanding Officer (July 2012 - January 2014)

Lieutenant Commander Abbott hails from San Diego, CA. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography. He was commissioned through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps in June 2001.

At sea, assignments include division officer assignments in USS KINKAID (DD 965) and USS PREBLE (DDG 88) and a department head tour as Operations Officer in USS KIDD (DDG 100). He reported to MCM CREW CONSTANT as Executive Officer in May, 2011 and assumed command of the crew and USS ARDENT (MCM 12) in July, 2012.

Ashore, he served as Officer in Charge and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Duke University Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps.

He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards).
