Command Master Chief (November 2010 - November 2012)
Senior Chief Bowler was born in Richmond, Virginia, and is a graduate of Mills E. Godwin High School Class of 1991. He enlisted in the Navy in July 1993 and completed Recruit Training in Orlando, Florida. Senior Chief Bowler then reported to and completed Naval Aircrew Candidate School and Aviation Rescue Swimmer School in Pensacola, Florida.
Senior Chief Bowler’s source rating was an Anti-Submarine Warfare Operator (AW). His career duty assignments include: HELICOPTER ANTI-SUBMARINE SQUADRON THREE (HS-3) Rescue Swimmer and Sensor Operator; HELICOPTER ANTI-SUBMARINE SQUADRON 10 (HS-10) Instructor/Master Training Specialist; HELICOPTER ANTI-SUBMARINE SQUADRON EIGHT (HS-8) LCPO forward deployed detachment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73)Undersea Warfare Module LCPO and Combat Direction Center LCPO; SEARCH AND RESCUE SWIMMER SCHOOL Jacksonville Senior Instructor/Senior Enlisted Leader; Command Senior Chief TPU Naval Base Kitsap.
Senior Chief Bowler holds an Associates of Science Degree from Excelsior College and is in pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Homeland Security. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 136) and the Command Master Chief/ Chief of the Boat Course (Class 70).
His personal awards include the Air Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), Good Conduct Medal (five awards) and various unit and campaign awards. He is a qualified as a Naval Aircrewman, Master Training Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist.
