|LCDR Dawn Ricketts
Executive Officer (April 2012 - October 2013)
A native of Fairfield, California, Lieutenant Commander Dawn Ricketts enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1991. She served tours in Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing One (CPRW-1), USS Cape Code (AD 43), and USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) prior to being selected for the Seaman-to-Admiral Commissioning Program. She graduated from the University of San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and was commissioned an Ensign in 2002.
At sea, LCDR Ricketts served in USS Stethem (DDG 63) as the Combat Information Center Officer during the development and operational testing and evaluation of the Tactical Tomahawk Weapon System. Subsequent to this tour she served as the Training Officer in USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), circumnavigating South America in support of Partnership of the Americas multi-national naval exercises in 2007. Most recently she served as the Operations Officer in USS DEWEY (DDG 105) during the development and operational testing of the Standard Missile 6 to include the first ever at sea firing.
Ashore, LCDR Ricketts served as Seamanship and Navigation Instructor and Senior Class Advisor at the NROTC Unit, San Diego. During that tour she also earned a Master of Science degree in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego.
LCDR Ricketts' awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), the Navy Good Conduct Medal (three awards), the Arleigh Burke Leadership Award, and various campaign, expeditionary and unit awards.
