Senior Chief Farr, a native of Fort Defiance, Arizona, enlisted in the United States Navy in August 1992. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, Florida he reported to Naval Technical Training Center, Pensacola, Florida where he completed CTM “A” school.
Upon graduation, he reported to Naval Security Group Activity Fort Meade, Maryland; and installed communication circuits at the National Security Agency. From there he returned to Pensacola to attend Direct Support Submarine Maintenance “C” school with follow on orders to NSGA, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. From there, he was assigned to Chief of Naval Operations Special (CNO) Projects West Coast, White House Communication Agency Washington D. C., and Center for Information Dominance Detachment, Fort Gordon, Georgia.
Following instructor duty at Fort Gordon, Senior Chief Farr served as the Maintenance Chief of CNO Special Projects Maryland and N3 National department LCPO Navy Information Operations Command Fort Meade, Maryland. Currently he serves as the Command Senior Chief for MCM Crew Bulwark home ported in San Diego, California.
Senior Chief Farr holds an Associates of Arts Degree in Computer Science. Additionally, he is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 161 BLUE and Command Leadership Course in Newport Rhode Island. He has earned his Enlisted Submarines Warfare Qualification, Information Dominance Warfare, Master Training Specialist designation, and the Presidential Service Badge.
Senior Chief Farr’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (third award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (fifth award), and various unit and campaign awards.
