Command Master Chief
Senior Chief David Collins of Seaford, Delaware enlisted in the United States Navy in September 1992. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, Florida, he reported to Naval Training Center, Orlando Florida where he completed Apprenticeship training.
Upon graduation, he reported for duty as an undesignated Airman recruit with Attack Squadron 85, Black Falcons, assigned at Naval Air Station Oceana. Detaching from active duty in May 1994, he later joined the Active Reserves in May of 1998 attached to Combat Camera stationed at Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. In December 2000, he rejoined active service as a Photographer’s Mate stationed aboard USS Enterprise (CVN 65). His fleet assignments include Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), NECC Det. Combat Camera, USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), and Expeditionary Combat Camera where he served as Senior Enlisted Advisor.
He currently serves as Command Senior Chief on board the USS Gladiator (MCM11).
His military and civilian education includes Photographer’s Mate “A” School, Multimedia Cameraman “C” School, and numerous Naval leadership courses. He is a graduate of the Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 162 Gold), Command Master Chief course (Class 157), and has earned a Liberal Arts Associate’s degree from Excelsior College. His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
