|LCDR Rob Biggs
LCDR Rob Biggs is a native of Houston, Texas. Upon completion of Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Operations Specialist “A” School before reporting to his first command, USS DOWNES (FF-1070). Follow-on assignments include: USS TARAWA (LHA-1), the staff of Carrier Air Wing 14 (CVW 14) embarked on USS CARL VINSON (CVN-70). He was selected for the Enlisted Education Advancement Program (EEAP) in 1996 and completed undergraduate requirements from Park University. Upon graduation he reported to USS JOHN PAUL JONES (DDG-53). LCDR Biggs received his commission via the Limited Duty Officer program in 2002.
Following commissioning he reported to USS MOBILE BAY (CG-53) as Air Defense Officer and embarked on a nine month deployment to the Arabian Gulf in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. His follow-on tour was at Afloat Training Group Pacific where he was responsible for the Air Defense and Ballistic Missile Defense certification of Third and Seventh Fleet ships.
LCDR Biggs attended Naval Postgraduate School from 2006 to 2008 completing a Masters of Science in Information Technology. After re-designation to Unrestricted Line Officer, he completed Department Head tours as Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer on USS PRINCETON (CG 59) from 2009 to 2012, highlighted by successful Operational Test Launches of Tomahawk and Harpoon missiles, a Fifth Fleet deployment and assessment by the Board of Inspection and Survey. He was selected for Early Command and reported to USS WARRIOR (MCM 10) in April 2013 as Executive Officer and took command in July 2014.
