|LCDR William J. Carroll
LCDR Carroll is a native of Maryland. He was commissioned in 2005 through the Naval ROTC program at The Citadel, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science.
He completed his division officer tours aboard USS BARRY (DDG 52) as Auxiliaries Officer and First Lieutenant, and USS O’KANE (DDG 77) as Navigator. He completed his department head tour on USS McFAUL (DDG 74) as Chief Engineer. During these assignments he deployed to the Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Fleet Areas of Responsibility.
Ashore, he served as an Operations and Tactics analyst with Surface Analysis Branch for Evaluation and Reporting (SABER) at the Nimitz Operations Intelligence Center. He was also an instructor at the Naval Academy in the Seamanship and Navigation Department. While on shore duty he earned a Master of Arts Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies, and completed Joint Professional Military Education Phase I, through the Naval War College in 2011.
His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (three), Navy and Achievement Medal (two), and various unit and service awards.
