|CDR Benjamin B. Miller
Commander Miller was raised in New Bern, NC and Enumclaw, WA and attended the California Maritime Academy where he received his BS in Business Administration and his USCG Third Mate’s license for steam or motor vessels of any gross tonnage upon oceans. He was commissioned through the Merchant Marine Reserve program in 2000.
His previous afloat tours include duty as Communications Officer, CIC Officer and Training Officer in USS COMSTOCK (LSD 45), Plankowner Combat Systems Officer in USS NEW ORLEANS (LPD 18), Operations Officer in USS CLEVELAND (LPD 7), and Flag Secretary to Commander, Expeditionary Strike Group THREE.
Ashore, Commander Miller received his MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College. He also served as a Staff Operations and Plans Officer and exercise mentor at Tactical Training Group Atlantic and on the staff of the International Programs department at the Naval War College.
Commander Miller’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various other unit and personal decorations.
