|LCDR Daniel P. Duhan
LCDR Duhan, a native of Angola, NY, graduated from the United States Naval Academy in May 1998, earning a Bachelors of Science Degree in Ocean Engineering. Upon completion of Surface Warfare Officer’s School in Newport, RI, LCDR Duhan reported aboard USS MONTEREY (CG 61), homeported in Norfolk, VA, as the Auxiliaries Officer. LCDR Duhan then completed a tour as Navigator in USS ASHLAND (LSD 48), homeported in Little Creek, VA, from March 2001 to December 2002.
Following his initial sea tours, LCDR Duhan attended the Naval Post Graduate School earning a Masters of Science Degree in Operations Analysis. Upon completion of graduate school, LCDR Duhan attended the Department Head course at Surface Warfare Officer School, Newport, RI.
LCDR Duhan’s first department head tour was as Engineering Officer, MHC CREW LOYALTY, homeported in Ingleside, TX. As part of a rotational crew, he was embarked in USS CARDINAL (MHC 60), USS SHRIKE (MHC 62), and USS PELICAN (MHC 53), from February 2006 to February 2007. In February 2007, LCDR Duhan reported to USS NEW ORLEANS (LPD 18) as Engineering Officer.
In January 2009, LCDR Duhan reported to the Chief of Naval Operations Staff, Assessment Division (N81), as the Mine Warfare and Defensive Surface Warfare Analyst and Section Head. In March 2011, he reported to Navy Personnel Command, Surface Officer Distribution Division (PERS-41), where he served as the Branch Head for Surface Placement and then as Assistant CAPT Detailer and Director of Strategic Communications.
LCDR Duhan has been awarded the Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy Achievement Medal (two awards), and various unit citations.
