CDR Robert C. Tryon is a native of North Attleboro, Massachusetts. He received his commission from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in 1999.
CDR Tryon’s sea tours include: Combat Information Center Officer in USS CARR (FFG 52), Fire Control Officer in USS STOUT (DDG 55), Operations Officer in USS SAN ANTONIO (LPD 17) and Operations and Plans Officer in Amphibious Squadron FIVE embarked aboard USS BOXER (LHD 4).
CDR Tryon’s shore tours include: Action Officer on the Chief of Naval Operations staff Test and Evaluation Directorate (OPNAV N912) and as a Department Head and Assistant Captain Detailer at Navy Personnel Command (PERS 41).
CDR Tryon earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation and a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner license from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy (1999), a Master of Science in Information Systems and Operations from the Naval Postgraduate School (2006) and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College (2015).
CDR Tryon’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, four Navy Commendation Medals, and various unit and service awards.
