|CDR Micah P. Brewer
Originally from Southern California, Commander Micah P. Brewer graduated from the California Maritime Academy in 2001 with a BS in Business Administration and currently holds a Second Mate Unlimited Merchant Marine license in addition to his Navy commission.
Brewer’s sea duty assignments in the Navy include service on destroyers and amphibious warships. His first division officer assignment was first lieutenant and then auxiliaries officer on USS Chafee (DDG 90) followed by service as repair officer and DCA aboard USS Ogden (LPD 5). During both sea tours, he deployed to the Arabian Gulf during operation Iraqi Freedom. Following these sea assignments, he left active duty.
While serving in the Navy Reserve, Brewer was a drilling reservist supporting Military Sealift Command Expeditionary Port Units and was mobilized in 2008 for one year to Camp Cropper, Iraq supporting detainee operations. In his civilian career, Brewer worked primarily for Pepsi Bottling Group and as a Navy contractor at Project Handclasp supporting the Navy’s humanitarian missions around the globe.
In 2010, CDR Brewer returned to active duty, his department head assignments include operations officer on USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108) and first lieutenant on USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) forward deployed to Sasebo, Japan.
CDR Brewer’s only Navy shore assignment was for instructor duty at Surface Warfare Officer School in Newport, RI teaching in N72 - Navigation, Shiphandling and Seamanship directorate. He report in August of 2017 as executive officer on USS GERMANTOWN (LSD 42) forward deployed to Sasebo, Japan.
