USS Denver Vertical Replenishment 
 
PACIFIC OCEAN - Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Fuel) Airman Adam M. Pond signals to an MH-60S Knighthawk helicopter, assigned to the "Island Knights" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25 to drop cargo on the flight deck of the amphibious transport dock USS Denver (LPD 9) during a vertical replenishment with the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Pecos (T-AO 197). Denver is part of the permanently forward-deployed Essex Amphibious Ready Group and is underway for a scheduled patrol in the Western Pacific.
