PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 7, 2010) - Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) Airman Adam Pond, left, directs hose teams fighting a simulated aircraft fire during a flight deck fire drill aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Denver (LPD 9). Denver is part of the permanently forward-deployed Essex Amphibious Ready Group and is underway for a scheduled patrol in the western Pacific.
