Japan Tours USS Denver

SASEBO, Japan – The USS Denver provided a tour of the ship for Japanese residents, giving them an in depth look into the ship August 4th and 5th.

The event was apart of Sasebo’s Seaside Festival, and event that featured musical tributes to Beyonce, Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus; and events such as arts and craft, basketball, softball and volleyball tournaments; and fun games and entertainment to help build community relations between service members and our Japanese hosts.

The Denver’s tour was one of the many highlights of the festival, as residents got to experience the inner workings of the ship. Tour guides gave residents a look into the ship’s bridge, mess decks, flight deck and well deck.

The tour guides themselves had a good time. Even though the event was long, giving the Japanese residents a look into their life was seemingly fulfilling
