SAN DIEGO (Apr. 30, 2012) - USS San Diego (LPD 22) Commanding Officer, Cmdr. Kevin Meyers, center, and members of his crew held a wreath-laying ceremony at the USS San Diego (CL 53) memorial on the dedication anniversary in commemoration of the Sailors onboard the World War II vessel. San Diego is the fourth ship named for the city and the first to be homeported in her namesake. The ship is the sixth in the San Antonio class and will be commissioning in San Diego May 19, 2012.
