CMDCM David Robinson Jr.
Command Master Chief

Command Master Chief David Robinson Jr. is a native of Lakeland, Florida and graduated from C. Leon King High School in May 1993. He enlisted in the United States Navy in June 1994 and attended recruit training at Recruit Training Command Orlando, Florida. Upon graduation from Recruit Training Command, he reported to Mess Specialist “A” School in San Diego, California.

In November 1994, he reported onboard USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65). During his time onboard he deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina in support of Operation Joint Endeavor and Iraq in support of Operation Southern Watch. Upon detaching in November 1998, he reported to Naval Air Station Key West, Florida.

In January 2002, he reported to the USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV 67) and deployed to the Mediterranean and Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. During his time onboard he also deployed to Iraq in direct support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In January 2006, he reported to Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida where he advanced to Chief Petty Officer. In 2009, he reported to AL ASAD, Iraq for a Global Support Assignment tour.

In January 2010, he reported onboard the USS PHILIPPINE SEA (CG 58), where he advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer. During his time onboard, he deployed to Kiel, Germany and participated in the multi-national exercise Baltic Operations 2011.

In November 2013, he reported to Recruit Division Commander “C” School where he completed the Navy Instructor Training Course. Upon graduating, he successfully trained six recruit divisions and qualified Master Training Specialist. He went on to serve as RDC “C” School LCPO. In November 2014, he graduated from the Senior Enlisted Academy.

February 2015, he was selected as Command Senior Chief and in June 2015, he reported to USS CHIEF (MCM 14) Sasebo, Japan, as Command Master Chief. In March 2017 he reported to his current assignment aboard USS GREEN BAY (LPD 20).

Master Chief Robinson’s decorations include the four Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, five Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, as well as various unit awards, campaign and service decorations. He is qualified to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist pins. Master Chief Robinson has earned a Bachelor’s in Organizational Management from the University of Ashford.
