Senior Chief Petty Officer, Gilberto Guerrerovaladez was born in Portola, California and raised in Yuma, Arizona. He graduated from Cibola High School in 1998 and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy. He completed Basic Training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, IL, and upon completion of RM “A” school he reported to his first command, USS TARAWA (LHA-1). His tours of duty also include Commander Naval Air Forces (COMNAVAIRFOR), USS BUNKER HILL (CG-52), and Afloat Training Group Pacific (ATG). He has held various positions from Duty Radioman to COMMS Scheduler for ATG San Diego.

Senior Chief Guerrero is a Certified Master Training and Afloat Training Specialist and holds an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Applied Technology from Central Texas Collage.

He has made several deployments in the western pacific as well as escorting the USS CARL VINSON from Mayport, Florida around South America to San Diego. Senior Chief Guerrero assumed duties as Communications Division Leading Chief Petty Officer onboard USS GREEN BAY (LPD-20) in June 2014, Departmental Leading Chief Petty Officer for Combat Systems Department in September 2015 and Command Senior Enlisted Leader in December 2016.

His personal awards include the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal (1 award), Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), Good Conduct Medal (4 awards), Enlisted Surface Warfare, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Information Dominance Warfare Specialist, and several campaign and service awards.
