(EW/AW/SW) Serrita L. Nicholson
Command Senior Chief
Senior Chief Nicholson is a native of Buffalo, New York. She enlisted in the United States Navy in August, 1994. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, Florida she reported to Naval Training Center, Orlando, Florida, where she completed Seaman apprenticeship training.
Upon graduation, she reported for duty aboard the USS Puget Sound (AD-38) as an undesignated Seaman. In 1996, she became an Aviation Storekeeper. Her sea duty assignments as a Logistics Specialist include Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 28 (HSC-28), Norfolk, Virginia; Patrol Squadron 69 (VP-69), Whidbey Island, Washington; Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 85 (HSC-85), and Coastal Riverine Group One (CRG1), San Diego, California. Senior Chief Nicholson is currently the interim Command Senior Chief and Supply Department Leading Chief Petty Officer onboard the USS New Orleans (LPD-18), San Diego, California. She holds a Master’s of Science Degree from National University, a Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, and a graduate of the Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy Class 058.
Senior Chief Nicholson’s shore assignments include Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sigonella, Sicily; Naval Operational Medical Institute, Pensacola, Florida; Priority Material Office Detachment Norfolk, Norfolk, Virginia; Naval Operational Support Center San Diego, San Diego, California; and Center for Naval Leadership, Norfolk, Virginia, where she earned her Master Training Specialist certification.
Her personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (2 awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (10 awards), and numerous service and campaign medals.
