Sailors from the USS Makin Island (LHD 8) inport emergency team (IET) fight a simulated class alpha fire. 
 

SAN DIEGO, (November 4, 2010) – Sailors from the USS Makin Island (LHD 8) inport emergency team (IET) fight a simulated class alpha fire during a drill on board the ship’s berthing spaces. Makin Island Sailors conducted firefighting training in preparation for pre-deployment operations as the Navy’s first operational electric-hybrid amphibious assault ship.
