The Honorable Laurie Hawn Visits USS MAKIN ISLAND 
 
SAN DIEGO (January 6, 2011) - The Honorable Laurie Hawn, Canadian Member of Parliament, is greeted by sideboys as he crosses the Quarterdeck of USS Makin Island (LHD8) on January 6.  Hawn toured the ship to gain a better understanding of U.S. naval capabilities.  This is Hawn’s first visit to an amphibious assault ship.
