Command Master Chief

Master Chief Petty Officer Alt resides from Nebraska, graduated from Shelby High School, and enlisted in the Navy on 01 July 1985.  He completed Recruit Training and Signalman “A” School in Orlando, Fl.

His duty assignments include USS WILLAMETTE (AO-180) in Pearl Harbor, HI.; Navy Recruiting District Portland, OR.
(his only shore duty); USS GUAM (LPH-9) in Norfolk, VA.; USS SOUTH CAROLINA (CGN-37) in Norfolk, VA.; Assault
Craft Unit Four in Virginia Beach, VA.; Assault Craft Unit FIVE in Camp Pendleton, CA.; Assault Craft Unit
FIVE DET WESTPPAC ALFA in Sasebo, Japan, Command Master Chief onboard USS TORTUGA (LSD-46)
in Sasebo, Japan, and is currently the Command Master Chief for the USS MAKIN ISLAND (LHD-8) in San Diego, CA.  

Master Chief Alt qualified as an LCAC Craftmaster in 1998.  He graduated from Air Force Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Academy in 2004, and the CMC/COB Course class 50 in June 2008.

Master Chief Alt’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), the Navy Good Conduct Medal (5 awards) and various service and campaign awards.
