SAN DIEGO (Sept. 10, 2010) – Hospital Corpsman 1st Class (SW/AW) Linda Grant practices inserting an intravenous needle into Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class (SW) Ricardo Perez’ arm in the intensive care unit of the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4). Boxer corpsmen practice IV placement quarterly on each other to maintain their level of training. Boxer is currently underway off the coast of California in preparation for an upcoming Board of Inspection and Survey.
