EAST CHINA SEA (Oct. 3, 2010) - Seaman Brandon Cash assists in recovering Marines assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit in a combat rubber raiding craft as they return to the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) in a combat rubber raiding craft after conducting a training exercise near the coast of Okinawa, Japan. Essex, commanded by Capt. Troy Hart, is part of the forward-deployed Essex Amphibious Ready Group and is underway in the Philippine Sea.
