ARABIAN SEA (Sept. 10, 2010) Marines assigned to 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) participate in fast rope exercises aboard amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5). Marines perform regular training exercises on board Peleliu, such as fast-roping, to maintain combat proficiency including marksmanship, hand-to-hand combat and amphibious warfare. The 15th MEU is deployed as part of Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group, supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
