Electronics Technician First Class Fidencio Castellanos, a native of San Antonio, TX, graduated from Fox Tech High School in May 2002 and enrolled at San Antonio Community College. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on June 14, 2004.

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Electronics Technician First Class Fidencio Castellanos graduated from Fox Tech High School in May 2002 and enrolled at San Antonio Community College. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June 2004.

Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to Apprentice Technical Training and Electronics Technician “A” School in August 2004. In November 2005 he reported to USS Simpson (FFG 56) in Mayport, Florida where he served as the primary communications technician and Work Center Supervisor for CSE1 and CE04 until September 2009. During his assignment to Naval Recruiting District San Antonio, TX he was meritoriously advanced to First Class Petty Officer. He detached in December 2012 and continued his professional military education while attending multiple ET “C” Schools en route to Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Crew 111.

He reported to LCS Crew 111 in November 2014 and is currently serving as the Combat Systems Leading Petty Officer and was recently selected as FY16 SSOY.

Petty Officer Castellanos’s personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal and has earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist designation.
