The future USS Milwaukee (LCS 5) is the 5th Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) and the 3rd of the Freedom variant. PCU Milwaukee is currently under construction by the Marinette Marine shipyard in Marinette, Wisconsin, as partners of Lockheed Martin. Her keel was laid down on 27 October 2011. One of the improvements for USS Milwaukee are specially designed waterjets that replace the commercial versions used on previous LCS.
