A native of Phenix, Arizona, Command Senior Chief Joseph Hanley joined the Navy in November 1999 and has served in a variety of sea and shore assignments.

His sea assignments include; USS Henry M. Jackson (SSBN 730), USS Connecticut (SSN 22), USS Ohio (SSGN 726), and USS Louisiana (SSBN 743).

His shore assignments include Navy Recruiting District Phoenix and serving as the Submarine Enlisted Community Manager in Millington, Tennessee.

He currently serves as the Command Senior Chief for Littoral Combat Ship Crew 204 in San Diego, California.

Senior Chief Hanley’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
