CMDCM(SW) Jeffery Tidwell, a native of Texas, graduated from Andrews High School in 1985 and enlisted into the United States Navy in 1987. Upon completion of Recruit Training in Great Lakes, he reported to Operations Specialist ‘A’ school where he was an honor graduate and selected orders to USS JOSEPHUS DANIELS (CG 27) homeported in Norfolk, VA and earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist onboard.
CMDCM(SW) Tidwell was then assigned to USCOMSOLANT in Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico where he deployed four times to South America in support of the annual UNITAS deployment. From 1996 to 2001, MASTER CHIEF Tidwell was the Combat Information Center Officer onboard USS OSPREY (MHC 51) where he obtained his Officer of the Deck Underway qualification and was selected into the ranks of a Chief Petty Officer in 1999.
CMDCM(SW) Tidwell’s previous sea tour was from 2007-2010 as the Combat Systems Senior Enlisted and collateral duty Senior Enlisted Advisor for MCM CREW FEARLESS before assuming the Command Senior Chief role in 2008 after being selected into the command program.
CMDCM(SW) Tidwell’s shore tours included Fleet Combat Training Center Atlantic Dam Neck as an OS“A” School instructor and company commander where he earned his Master Training Specialist designator and also graduated from OS“C” School. Commander Mine Countermeasure Squadron One in Ingleside, Texas as the Readiness and Training Officer where he was advanced to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. His last shore duty was at Afloat Training Group Ingleside as the Integrated Combat Systems Leading Chief Petty Officer and Lead ULTRA “C” and FEP Assessor where he also earned his Afloat Training Specialist.
CMDCM(SW) Tidwell is currently assigned as the Command Master Chief for PCU CORONADO (LCS 4) Blue.
CMDCM(SW) Tidwell’s personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (silver star), Navy Achievement Medal (silver star), and various unit and service awards.
